GC01 Human genetics - explaining the issues
The lesson asks students to create a leaflet, aimed at a specific audience, which puts a variety of points of view. The activity not only helps students to develop an understanding of this important social issue, but also encourages them to consider it from the points of view of people who have different opinions on the issue. This lesson can be used independently or as an introduction to Human Genetics: whose point of view?

Targets/Learning Objectives Students will develop an understanding of and respect for the diversity of views on issues relating to human genetics
Students will think about the social and cultural issues relating to human genetics and analyse information and its sources
Students will use their imagination to consider other people’s experiences and be able to think about, express and explain views that are not their own
