GC02 Human genetics - whose point of view?
The use of genetic research to help people overcome problems that result from malfunctioning genes or combination of genes from parents is much debated. Some people think that we should not interfere with nature, while others consider that scientific development should be used to benefit people who suffer, or might suffer from genetic complications.

This lesson asks students to consider the issues. This may involve them in arguing a point of view which is not necessarily their own. This helps them to develop an understanding of other peoples’ points of view and makes them think more carefully about their own.
