HC02 Is there a role for the law?
The law protects us both from ourselves and others. Many of us have habits that lead to ill health - so should the law step in and control these habits?

Businesses produce foods which are full of sugar and fat - but we buy them. Should there be controls over the food that is produced? Many people still smoke, although we know that it is bad for many aspects of our health. Should cigarettes be banned?

The lesson asks students to consider these issues, having brainstormed ways in which the law does and could control the way we treat our hearts.
